When Finance Met Agentic AI: An Evening with AWS

What happens when finance professionals and technologists share one room? A packed house, great questions, and plenty of new ideas.

The ICAI New York Chapter partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for an in-person evening on Agentic AI in Finance & Accounting. Swami Natarajan, Agentic AI for ERP Leader at AWS, walked us through “The Practitioner’s Playbook”, a practical look at how AI agents can take on the work that eats up a finance team’s time, from month-end close and reconciliations to repeat reports.

The message of the night was clear: AI won’t replace finance professionals, but professionals who use AI will lead the way. Pairing financial expertise with data skills, and continuing to learn, is how our profession moves forward.

The conversation didn’t stop when the slides ended. Attendees stayed back to network, swap ideas, and capture the moment in a group photo.
